As far as being more likely to be immune to a new disease. It doesn't really work that way.. being likely to be immune to an emergent virus it has more to do with genetics, and perhaps luck than anything else. the luck aspect comes into play if you for some reason become immunized to some substance that cross reacts with the emergent disease.

Well, we're looking at Hitler through 20/20 hindsight. Think about Germany in the 1920's and consider the desperation of finding a way out of the economic hole that the Treaty of Paris had put them in. The Nazis had a plan that got them to full employment and relative economic prosperity. It didn't really matter who was in charge. The result legitimized the technique, and the leader. Hitler brought prosperity. Despite his disturbing political rhetoric, his 'system' seemed to work.

You make a good point. Some people are just "allergic" to certain substances. For example, some people can simply die from one dose of ecstasy because they are basically allergic to it. It doesn't mean, however, that everyone will die from it (I'm using ecstasy as an example to make a point). Unfortunately for some, we haven't really figured out a way to find out if someone is going to be "allergic" to a vaccine or have a bad reaction to it until after we give it to them, just like we can't know if chemotherapy will remove a cancer until after it's been tried.
