I was learning about Asperger's, autism and other related illnesses when my second child was born. He is now 4 and is healthy... has been dairy-free his entire life and we confirmed his dairy allergy when he was 2. I did still vaccinate him initially but at a slower pace. He's now had all vaccines except the MMR which I am afraid to give him due to the DAN doctor my older son sees. She is convinced this could be detrimental to him. Her experience is with hundreds of children and I trust her. She was a mainstream pediatrician until her daughter became autistic at 4 years old, after a MMR shot. She has pictures of her little girl... a few weeks before her 4th birthday... cute child... completely normal looking... all dressed up in a princess outfit (this is significant for autistic kids because many would not touch these types of outfits due to their tactile sensory issues). Then her daughter has an MMR... runs a 104 degree fever for multiple days... starts to have seizures... horrific G/I issues, looses her language, etc.

I also received hepatitis from a food source. This is hepatitisA. I don't believe they vaccinate against this type. My college microbiology professor told me that hepA doesn't stay in a person's system long, blood donation is possible (although I don't just in case). I'm pretty sure it's hepB that vaccines are used for.
